Samedi 21 Juillet - Bétonsalon Dernier jour de l'exposition! 15h00 : Conférence de Jonathan Chauveau : Ananas Obsession L’ananas est au monde moderne ce que la pomme fut au Moyen-âge chrétien soit son symbole fruitier par excellence. Cette théorie est à l’origine d’un travail de recherche mené par Jonathan Chauveau depuis plusieurs mois. Il viendra rendre compte à Bétonsalon des avancées de son enquête sur « l’ananas culturel ». Il parlera notamment des artistes : Cyril Aboucaya, Luis Buñuel, Amos Gitaï, Camille Henrot et Bruno Peinado. Membre actif de la revue d’art contemporain FROG, Jonathan Chauveau (né en 1978) est commissaire d’exposition et journaliste.

Lundi 9 juillet - Palais de Tokyo - salle 1937 19h00 : Présentation du dernier numéro de ZAMÂN – en présence de Morad Montazami, rédacteur en chef et Nagham Hodaifa, auteur du numéro. Née au moment de la révolution islamique iranienne, en 1979, la revue Zamân reparaît en 2010. Pensée comme un ensemble de « constellations » entre les sciences, les arts et la littérature, Zamân se propose de dessiner les contre-histoires du rapport Orient-Occident. Dans cet espace où les images jouent un rôle primordial, la traduction de textes et de corpus enfouis côtoie la théorie et la critique contemporaines. Le projet éditorial, engagé dans une lecture post-orientaliste des savoirs et des représentations, pourrait également se réclamer d’un orientalisme hérétique. zaman-revue.com

Saturday 21 July - Bétonsalon Last day of the exhibition 3pm: Talk by Jonathan Chauveau : Ananas Obsession Pineapple is for the modern world what apple was in the Christian Middle Ages: an archetypal fruit symbol. This theory is the origin of a research led by Jonathan Chauveau for several months. At Bétonsalon - Centre of art and research, he will talk about the progress of his investigation about “the cultural pineapple”. He will speak about some artists like Cyril Aboucaya, Luis Buñel, Amos Gitaï, Camille Henrot or Bruno Peinado. Jonathan Chauveau (born in 1978) is a contributor of the contemporary art magazine FROG. He is also curator and journalist.

Monday 9 July - Palais de Tokyo - salle 1937 7pm: Presentation of the last issue of ZAMÂN – with Morad Montazami, editor and Nagham Hodaifa, author of this issue. Zamân (Texts, images & documents) is a journal that has been resuscitating from its ashes, following the publication of two issues in 1979 and 1980, under the supervision of a group of intellectuals from Iran exiled in France ( its nature at the time was to express a Marxist and critical vision of the Islamic revolution in Iran ). It has been remodeled today, to become a review on crossed visions on relationships between West and East. A new first issue was out in Spring 2010 and helped focus on its current objectives: to rethink the zone where sciences, art and literature meet, in the shape of original theories, and nourish a critical effort, that is common to studies on “orientalism”, post-colonial studies, and more generally to “counter-histories”, where the abstract concepts of West and East intermingle. With this in prospect, Zamân tends to exhume, to translate, and to pass on texts and corpuses from the past, which have resonance in our days. In the end, the aim is to reflect upon a model of thinking which would be similar to the “constellation” model, dear to the philosopher Walter Benjamin. Zamâm is conceptualized in Paris by Morad Montazami (chief editor), Laetitia Moukouri, Damien Guggenheim, Tao Delhaye and designed by Elie Colistro.  zaman-revue.com
